So, I've been horrible at staying on top of blogging and pictures, but now I'm going to try to update every month.

It's so hard to believe our little girl is a year old! We are so blessed to have her in our lives! She makes us laugh every day and it is so much fun to see her learning and growing every day. She has such a fun, loving personality. Everyone we know says she is so "well-behaved." I don't think we as parents can take any responsibility for that, she's just naturally sweet. She blows kisses and waves when we tell her to say goodbye or goodnight. She says 'dad' and sometimes 'momma.' She knows that a dog says 'oof' and a car says 'vvvvvv.' She has been signing very well lately. She signs 'eat' independently when she's hungry and also knows 'drink,' 'wash hands,' and 'more.' She loves to eat mangoes and bread, isn't very picky at all. She is very good at sharing her food with whomever is nearby. She wants to snuggle to sleep all the time, so putting her in her crib for naps or bedtime is very sad for her- and us! She loves to go for walks in her stroller and play in water. She took her first step on Friday, July 29th, and can stand balanced on her own for about 30 seconds, so she'll be walking soon!

Ariana's blessing day. She was 1 month old. My best friend, Lauren, made the dress and headband and I was very pleased. It turned out beautifully. This is kind of a weird angle, but we did our best to get the whole dress in the picture as close as possible.

Sorry the quality is not great. I'm not very good with the camera. Ari is about 7 months in this video. We tried starting her on solids at about 5 or 6 months but she just didn't seem to like it. Then I realized that she loves to eat solids if she can hold it in her hands and feed herself. She's so independent. Just doesn't really like being fed with a spoon. I need to post a video of her eating a mango- it's pretty funny. Oh, and yes, I took her clothes off so she wouldn't stain them with orange yams.

What the Fantastic Mr. Fox!?!
Well She's coming! Kiersi is finishing her work stuff with incredible dedication. A year end review AND a client analysis. (It will be nice when I get my wife back though.) She spends almost every spare minute working paperwork! (ugh) She is getting bigger but Like she says she has a great weight loss program- she plans on dropping about 20 lb in one day! Wow, she never ceases to amaze me. She has had a relatively easy pregnancy with mild round ligament pain and I think she puked 3 times. She can still tie her own shoelaces and painted her toenails last week. It's time now to get the hospital bag ready (eep!) and prepare to bring home a little one!
In the meantime I am trying to get the house in order ( i have a really sick walnut tree, and grubs in my lawn. grr. a broken sprinkler system, property lines fiasco, home repairs, shed to build, garage to build shelves in and organize, sanity to maintain) so that a new baby might actually have a dad. We are very excited that Grandma and Grandpa Rolfson are so close- and they are too. This will be the first baby girl grandaughter on both of our sides. Spent the last weekend visiting Grandma and Grandpa Sandberg- and great Grandparents Sandberg, I really enjoy visiting with great grandpa Sandberg because he used to work in a machine shop too! I do miss building things with my hands but designing has its own specific rewards. just finished a machine that was sold to a company in utah to help in manufacturing of those big massive sign frames that span the freeways, and I didn't have to change hardly anything- all necessary adjustment was predesigned!(kind of a big deal to me) I am so grateful that I had the shop experience to be a foundation for my design attempts- that was a nice ego boost for me.
My good friend that I grew up with (actually he kinda raised me) came to Rexburg to visit with his pregnant wife (Stewart and Becky North) and we had some fun times with them. Really good people. Wow! It's late- gotta get up in six hours- ciao!

So now that the first trimester is over- it's fairly safe to spill the beans! WE ARE GONNA HAVE A BABY! Kiersi has had a little bit of morning sickness, and puked once. Other than that it has been fairly uneventful- as far as anything negative! The last ultrasound showed something that actually resembled a baby! (Instead of a duck, or a bean.) Mommy is doing fine too. Nothing out of the ordinary- not even pickle soup or double brownie fudge sundaes at three in the morning. The worst and most bizarre thing so far has been a craving for cold bread and cheese. (pre-gooey grilled cheese sandwich). Kiersi accidentally left the ultrasound pics at her friends house, so we haven't got a whole lot of stuff to show off. Here we go!

Puppets!

So, when I was in Utah in March for my dad's birthday, we went to a bookstore and I saw this puppet I could not resist! I like how realistic it moves. My grandmother, Evelyn, absolutely loved the puppet, too when I showed her how it moves so slowly and realistic like a real turtle. So, I named my turtle Evelyn in honor of my slow, but wise and lovely grandma. 'Evelyn' goes to work with me and entertains my clients on car rides.

One time I took 'Evelyn' in to Subway with me and ordered her a sandwich! (My friend said she would buy me cookies if I ordered with her the whole way through, so of course I did it and hammed it up.) "I'll have a 6 inch turkey on wheat. And what would you like, Evelyn? (pause as Evelyn wiggled on my arm) She'll have a roast beef sandwich. Do you want tomatoes? (she shook her head) No tomatoes." This continued till the end and the sandwich artist thought I was very strange, but my friend was impressed and I got my cookies!

When we were in Jackson, we came across more Folkmanis puppets and Andrew found this monkey and said to me, "If you get to have a turtle, then I get to have a monkey!" So, we took the little monkey home.We don't have a name for him yet. I wanted to name him 'Chuckles' but Andrew won't let me because it's his monkey. But he hasn't come up with any ideas yet. So, please list your ideas below!

4 Year Anniversary!

We just had our four year anniversary! Doesn't it go by in a blink. Friday morning we took off to Yellowstone national park, and spent most of our time there in the canyon area- one of our new favorites (Heather got us hooked on that one). And when we were too tired to hike around anymore we headed back to West Yellowstone and caught the Playmill production of 'Footloose'. I have never seen the movie and had no idea what the story would be but they did a very entertaining job. Saturday we headed down to old faithful, snagged some souvenirs, watched it squirt, and then left. On our way to old faithful, about a mile before the area is the black sand basin. We figured we would stop there and see what was going on. We had never been there before(or just don't remember). What a gem of a place! It has a little geyser and a few little pools that are really pretty. Highly recommended stop. After that we drove down through the park, into grand teton national park, which is absolutely gorgeous! Took a lot of pictures and really enjoyed the 'other view' of the tetons.
There was road construction and we hit a bump that tripped the inertia sensor in the alarm, but I didn't know that was the deal. So it disabled the alarm and made this clicking sound even when the key was out! Annoying. So I checked all of the fuses and connections, pulled the battery and plugged it back in- all to no avail. But Kiersi figured out how to fix it and took a huge amount of stress off of our trip. My wife rocks!

Headed on down through the park into Jackson Hole, walked around and ate in the Trio Bistro which was pretty fancy and fun. There we had Buffalo burgers with sweet potato fries. YUM!

There is beauty all around- AND IT'S CALLED A LAND ROVER!

WAHOO! We got a new car yesterday. The ABS modulator on our jeep cherokee has been failing/failed for quite some time now, and last week the brakes stopped working for a little while. Luckily I was on my way home which is uphill. Since it was one of the first abs systems, the modulator itself is pretty much a prototype. The worst part is that chrysler is the only company that makes it- no aftermarkets- and the price tag on that little rarity: (drum roll please) 2100 bucks- and then several hundred more for the labor to put it in. So the car has defaulted itself totalled. What a load of crap. Well we had just started a sort of insurance fund just in case one of our cars died. (both are older and quirky) and so we were able to buy the land rover with cash! Yeah, there were a lot of twenty dollar bills. It is a beautiful machine. I keep thinking it is a dream, but I look at my new little land rover keychain and I get giddy. MMMMMMM.

C'mon, people. You knew it was coming. I wake up today and my little weather gadget tells me that it is 4 below with the windchill - what the nanerpus?! Isn't there a word for that? When it gets warmer and then all of the sudden, BAM! Cold as heck. Oh, well. Devin likes it. Last weekend we went to Jeff and Melissa's reception. He is really close to my age, and when we were younger I spent like a week down there. It was a lot of fun, other than the fact that it was spud harvest for me, and I had to wait for him to get home from school. That was when I was first introduced to the very trendy They Might Be Giants. (okay well I thought it was trendy- and fun!) And got hooked on goldenaxe- the old school video game.
More exciting news in our lives- I DIDN'T KILL ANYONE AT WORK! Believe me, it was not an easy task. And even better news is that Kiersi didn't die at work! Which is really cool. Cuz she is so HOT! WOOOH!
The worst part of the week is that we all got screwed out of an hour of sleep for lousy daylight savings. Who's bright idea was that?

Masquerade! Plastic faces on parade!

We went to a masquerade ball with our good friends the Davenports last weekend. It was a lot of fun, we decorated our masks together, had an all day date and dinner and dance. The Johnson's joined us for most of the day but could not make it to the dance itself. The boys played xbox while the ladies got facials and their hair done. Got together, watched a movie together, and ate a roast chicken that the Davenports prepared and it was fantabulous! Then off to the dance at The Legacy Flight Museum! And danced the night away! It was so much fun to be there together.

Regardless of the reputation bestowed upon Mondays, in my opinion, Tuesdays suck. Not looking forward to it. But today was cool because we had a little party at my parents for Kiersi. They gave her this little stuffed panda whom she named Haiku, and there is still debate as to whether the bear is male, female, or hermaphroditic. We played the card game 'pit' and Kiersi did very well! She was so happy. I thought the game was rigged. Unbearably full of bull.
At work I (Andrew) have been stressed out so bad that I shake when I get a chance to sit still. I have responsibilities for a contract to Dragon Power out of Colorado (wind towers) and the failure in timing from those who set dates, failure in planning of those who should plan, has left me struggling for months and psychotic for about three weeks now. This contract has definately been a monster and so I think the name is fitting. I may have nightmares for the rest of my life from this.
As a result I have been desperately trying to relax (think about that for a second and then you can guess how effective that has been.) so that whenever I get a few spare minutes I feel like I have to hurry up and relax. Yeah, I did say that. So, I have lately been playing my violin for the purpose of reducing stress. It has been so long since I played much, that after about a half hour my arms were so tired that I could hardly hold them up. It does bring a little dose of calmness to my person, though.

So the temperature here dropped about as fast as the gas prices recently. Less than three bucks now!? What on earth. Yesterday we got some Ice cream and fries at the Backyard frozen custard joint with the Johnsons. After stuffing our faces we played rapid recall and nerts. (which was very frustrating cuz I lost pathetically.) Then we decided to rent a show, but since we couldn't find the Hulk we got Speed Racer! Good flick kids, would recommend it. Loaded with good actors and done by the Wachowskis. At least redbox it people. Actually Daniel and Andrew watched the show while the wifeys put on their footy pajamas and slept. Party poopers.
Our aunt and uncle (who are also our landlords) are leaving tomorrow to the St. George temple for the duration of winter. Which means (dun dun dun) LOUD MOVIES AND MUSIC AND PARTIES AND CRAZINESS! WAHOO!

So recently our friends and family have been chewing our kiesters to get a current blog situation happening. Awkward considering we were in Craigo's when Stewart and Becky started munchin away. (try explaining that to the waitress....) And then Heather made some threat if we didn't check out her blog by next week. (i don't actually remember what the threat was... but fine.)
So Stewart and Becky graced us with their presence on saturday, in an attempt to visit a local corn maze together. They drove past the maze on their way to Rexburg, and apparently, the corn maze was a little underwhelming. So we played that imaginary game (imaginiff) at my parents, with my sister and brother-in-law. Had a lot of fun, until Stew and Becky pooped out on us and decided to drive back to Poky before too late. (Then we had more fun.)
Today (sunday) we got together again and went up to see grandma Poulsen. She remembered who Heather was, and thought that somehow I was related to her, but wasn't sure and couldn't remember my name. So, I realized that I really need to get up to see her more often.
Our visit tonight was also marred by my calculus homework. I think I'm getting the hang of logarithmic differentiation but not sure. Got a test tomorrow. Oh Boy. (gag a maggot)

The most recent addition to our home is our new baby Kenny. (short for Kenmore) We picked him up in Inkom a couple days ago for 75 bucks, and the fact that we love getting good deals makes us even more happy about it. He finished his first job yesterday and did fantastic!
